Maha Shivaratri (or Sacred Period of Maha Shivaratri)

(Based on the teachings of Guruji Krishnananda)

Tomorrow (27.02.2014) is the Sacred day of Maha Shivaratri. At midnight tomorrow, the Great Rishis (Light Masters) travel to the Divine Plane of Lord Shiva and bring a part of Him with them to our earth. So, Lord Shiva literally comes down to earth.

Lord Shiva is generally known as the Destroyer, because His energies are required for the destructive processes of the Cosmos. But the energies of Creation and Sustenance are also in Him.

On the following morning before Sunrise, Lord Shiva enters every house as a ray of Light. His Divine Energies will be available on this earth as Light for ten days.

The Rishis apprise Lord Shiva of the Spiritual condition of this earth and its people. Based on this, Lord Shiva may give instructions to the Rishis, who are the administrators of this earth.

On the first day of Shivaratri, there is a custom of staying awake through the night. This practice is called ‘Jagarana’ in Sanskrit, which literally means, not sleeping. Just staying awake one night does not help us spiritually in any way.

‘Jagarana’ is not about sleep deprivation. It is to be understood as Being Aware or Awakening. It is being aware of the Presence of Lord Shiva on earth.

During the ten days of Lord Shiva’s stay on earth, we can absorb more of His energies by meditating and channelling Light more, and also by trying to be aware of His energies and His Presence throughout the day.

May the Lord’s Divine energies destroy all the negativity and ignorance in us and help us awaken.

A Healing Experience - Seema Almel

One night I could not sleep and I was feeling very restless. This was because I had travelled a lot and my body was too fatigued. I did not want to disturb Guruji Krishnananda or the Rishis to heal my pain. However I was quietly squirming and mentally blurted the name of Lord Krishna. By the fourth time I called out His name, instantaneously the pain vanished! I saw that my body smiled. And then I slept peacefully. 

I intuitively feel that it was Guruji who healed me. In any case, Divine Grace descends without prayer, whether we deserve it or not.

PSYCHIC VISIONS – PROJECTED OR REAL?

During a Shambala Meditation Class in 2011, I had an interesting vision. I saw a red light, not a field of red light but something like a lit torch aimed at the viewer. Shortly, there was a similar blue light as well. And then I saw a group of ladies. All of these were in the same field of vision simultaneously.

Later I requested Guruji Krishnananda to help me understand the vision. He said that not just the lights but even the group of ladies was energies.
It is strange how our mind sees certain energies to make them comprehensible. And at times, the energies take on form to help us see them!

While helping us understand the nature of our Mind / Mental Body or our Manomaya Kosha, Guruji had explained that the Mind can project visions, coloured lights and even messages from higher beings. The Mind does so because deep within, our Soul wants to have such experiences. The Mind is very powerful and can satisfy the Soul’s unstated wishes. Only a sharp Intuition can identify the difference between a genuine psychic/Astral experience from a projected one.

My personal experience has been that a state of surrender and desirelessness with “having experiences” makes a huge difference. An honest understanding that psychic or #Astral visions/messages do not indicate our “greatness” or Spiritual growth restrains our Mind from keeping us happy by giving us false visions.

Further, I usually talk to my Mental Body and request it to not project visions/messages. This has most certainly helped.

The unseen world has enormously much more than the visible, tangible one we are used to. Guruji Krishnananda once said that our Mind can even project 3D physical visions! Yes, he mentioned this when someone reported having seen some white Light orbs.

So there you have it. A developed intuition, surrender to the Divine in full faith, mature patience and #Vairagya (Sanskrit for non-attachment) can make sure that our Mind, a beautiful gift from God, does not project visions.

AN UNEXPECTED GIFT

For many months there was a poem building-up in me... there was an opening line, a phrase to end it with, a few words floating in between and a lot more frozen in an unexpressed something. I did not think much of it, even though the proverbial tip of the iceberg was dipping in and out of my ocean of thoughts and feelings, reminding me often that I needed to put pen to paper. 

I had been reading the 2nd book of the series 'Convoluted Universe' by Dolores Cannon. Every word from this humble person is imbued with purity and sincerity. There isn’t a fibre of pompousness or falsehood in this beautiful being. Even the absolutely far-fetched concepts she presents do not ring untrue. The author candidly expresses her own amazement at the Knowledge she receives. 

In the silent depths of the night, I was reading a certain chapter in the book about Spiritual energies from an advanced being. With each paragraph, something in me was clearing-up and I felt like writing. A mist, as though, was lifting and I could see the entire iceberg through the ocean. But I kept reading instead. The vibrancy of the content was so potent it made me feel elevated and clear. Even with a pen and notepad at hand, I chose to keep reading instead of rolling out the unexpressed on to paper. 

I stopped reading only when I came across incredible words from the being, which said, that the readers would receive Spiritual energies from those very passages and get a boost in their Spiritual journey. And that’s exactly what I was feeling!

I wrote the poem, actually a prosetry (prose + poetry), a poem and two passages, all in one stretch. I was in a higher state of vibrancy and something from within me was glowing with ineffable clarity.

Guruji Krishnananda had said many times that Spiritual initiations can be conferred through unconventional means. The unexpected and special gift I received from the book, for me, is an evidence.
